Hello Everyone,

Thing are going good here, we are seeing some success. we have this one investigator he is from India who came here in about 2009 for pharmacy school at the UMKC and he actually asked for us from mormon.org because he heard negative things about our church and was wondering then how was our church growing so fast and we seem happier. When we first meet him we started the first lesson and we got a little in to how God is our loving Heavenly Father then he stopped us saying that’s what a lot of other christen churches believe, what makes us different from them so from there we went in to the Book of Mormon and latter-day prophets and he seem to understand and seemed to like what we were teaching him. Although it has been interesting teaching him because he really doesn’t have a christen background he just had some friends that were catholic. Then a week or so ago we helped him and his wife move to a new apartment and from that they both really liked us and he became more receptive to what we taught and the next time we meet with him his wife made us some traditional Indian food. It was really really good. He was willing to say the closing prayer. and he was also able to come to church this last Sunday and he said the closing pray in gospel principles class and that was exciting and he really enjoyed it and we were pretty excited because that was his first time every going to a christen church and he is praying about being baptized and that is even more exciting.

Oh and that hurricane that just came; apparently it somehow got carried up to where we were and that was pretty crazy. It rained for almost 24 hours straight and now it is really humid and hot so that has been kind of sucky but this area really needed the rain so that part was good. Oh and we weren’t quite sure if we could light the sparklers because of how dry it was but now since everything is soooo wet we lit one or two of them and that was a little fun and I do like the CD it is pretty nice.

Hello

I got the package and thank you for everything in there the insoles are really great they feel really nice and I really like the letter Sadie and dad wrote. This week we were able to visit some potentials that we had found earlier in the month and something interesting about one of them is that his name is Slush. I’m sure if he keeps progressing well find out his real name. So we have been doing a lot of work in the ghetto of our area because we needed people to teach and were having trouble finding them so we went there and yesterday I guess in PEC they talked about how all the people we were teaching are in the ghetto and that there was nothing wrong with that but asked us if we could find people in nicer areas because they would probably be more solid members which is what they really need right now because our ward has 27 pages worth of members and only about a 10th of that are active members. Our ward mission leader said he would talk to us and also told them that we are trying our best with what we got and he pushed member help for us. So we will be going to the nicer area to go tracting to find more people as well and I can tell the bishopric is liking us since we are finding a lot of new people. Oh and the other elders that we trade the car with every other week can’t drive for right now so we have been full time car for about 2 weeks and that has been pretty nice and the weather is kind of cooling off. It hasn’t been in the hundreds in about a couple of weeks and it has rained a couple times this past two weeks. Oh and I’ve kind of figured out the accent they have here. It sounds like any word that sounds like it ends in a vowel becomes an ‘a’ like yella, winda, Missoura so that was also pretty exciting this week.

Hello everyone

I didn’t get transferred but I did get a new comp his name is Elder

Meisenheimer. He is pretty cool he has been out for 21 months so it looks like I might be transferred after this one but who knows. He is from Sandy

Utah and one for the first things he really wanted to do was to tract prospect because apparently it is well known in the mission for being awesome

I guess and it was a pretty cool experience. A lot of the people there knew what we do and were really nice to us for spreading the word and when it was starting to get dark we were walking back to the car because we didn’t want to park the car where we were going for safety reasons, people kept asking us what we were doing out so late so that was interesting and before that when we parked the car this other car pulled in a few stalls away and out of nowhere this guy went into the other car and gave the driver some money and got a “balloon” and get out and left so that was interesting because that was the first time I’ve seen that happen and a lot of the houses we tried had bullet holes in all over the place but Meisenheimer just kept smiling and waving at everyone so that made me feel a lot better and happier. It has been

pretty awesome so far serving with him and he is really excited about the work and is a pretty funny guy too which helps. Well that’s about all the

excitement I had this week…
