Hello

First off tell Sadie sorry that I haven’t sent her any letters the last two weeks I didn’t have any stamps but now I do so she should be getting one this week

and I’m pretty sure that I’m staying this transfer but you never know and I just realized that I forgot my camera back home so next week I’ll send you my Halloween pic next week sorry D:. and this week we decided to try riding the buses to get to places instead of riding bikes or walking and let me tell you I’m pretty mad that it took me 4 1/2 months to use them, they are really nice and it is $3 to get an all-day pass for any bus and we get reimbursed for them so it’s really nice and they pretty much take us were ever we need to and we have been able to talk to a lot of a great people and share the gospel like crazy while we were on the bus we were talking to this guy and while we were talking he ask “this might be a trike question but in a lot of Baptist church I’ve been too they said if you don’t believe in Jesus then you’ll go to hell, and some of us asked what about the people back in 300 AD or remote places will they go to hell? That just doesn’t make sense to me what do you guys think?” so we told him about the spirit world and how we do work for the dead and you could tell he thought that that was pretty cool and said well if that’s the case then you guys have a lot of work on your hands and chuckled a little right before he got off the bus. it has been pretty amazing to see of the great experiences we have had here and it has been REALLY nice serving with Elder Meisenheimer it doesn’t even seem like he is going home this week by the way he is working and it surprised a lot of the ward that he is going home this week I just hope that I can keep up the great work that him and I did together.

Oh and we were able to go to the temple on Tuesday to go with a recent convert to receive her endowments. It was a great experience, you can really see how the gospel blesses everyone’s life if they let it

Hello,

this week was pretty awesome we had a baptism and they lady that was baptized had been investigating for a little over a year and I was able to baptize her and yes i got pictures. It was really great about half of the people who showed up we not members and they were her family so that was exciting and the spirit was really strong there and when we confirmed her on Sunday.

oh and also on Sunday we were going through our phone to see who can we invited to church and elder Meisenheimer found this one name and gave him a call when he answered and after we invited him he said sure I was going to go to this one church but its closed so if you guys pick me up I’ll love to go to your church. So we found him and picked him up in the car you could smell that he was pretty drunk so that was a little concerning but when we got back to church during sacrament meeting before the sacrament he yelled something and apparently wave his arms around then after the sacrament was done we were asked by our bishop to sit by him to keep him reverent and it was the primary program and after one of the songs he started to clap and we quickly told him that we don’t do that in the chapel and he mumbled something and after sacrament meeting we took him home by the request of the bishop and we have a appointment with him later this week so we had a very exciting Sunday. Oh and we had my ankle wrapped up for about 5 days or so and now it is just a little sore.

Hello

this week was pretty awesome we contacted a lot of the S.U.V. choir people we had about 12 and so far we have contacted 10 and we are now teaching 7 of them and they are all progressing and one person who needed to come to church one more time before she could be baptized came to church and now is getting baptized on the 27 and she has been investigating for a little over a year and the ward is pretty excited for that. and this week we were able to teach 27 lessons and 12 of them were with a member present it is pretty exciting to see the lord blessing us and the bishop is really happy for us and the area because we have several really close to being baptized it is really great to see Elder Meisenheimer working soo hard even though this is his last transfer he is working like it’s nowhere near and I have been a lot from him:D. Oh and Sadie that is a really awesome picture you drew ;D

oh yea i forgot Saturday morning we were playing B-Ball with the elders quorum and I stepped on my comps foot and twisted my ankle kind of bad so its pretty wrapped up and has a brace on it but I still every once in a while bend it just right to make it hurt but at least I can still kind of walk the member we are living with jokingly said my name is now elder crippled.

Hello,

it’s great to hear that Sadie finally sent the picture.

This week went pretty well we were on bikes since Thursday and for some reason this time my legs are really sore. One of really solid investigator had to get a job because her husband was going to be handicap pretty soon and so she is now working like 10 hours shifts at Wal-Mart so we haven’t been able to meet with her in a while. Oh and this last Saturday there was a presentation that Gladys Knight was doing form the church in Independence it was a gospel choir we went able to go because they were doing it in the Independence stake center so it couldn’t fit a lot of people and its main focus was non-members and less actives because she would be baring her testimony about the church and the gospel. and people could request after the show a CD of the performance a Restoration Dvd and a book of Mormon and we will go around and pass them out to the people how requested them and we have already received 10 or 12 request for them so that was pretty exciting.

and on Saturday we helped at the warehouse for a thing called project breakthrough they basically get donations and they have people how are in need come and ask for things they need like furniture and little stuff and at the end everything was done we they showed us a lot of coats and jackets that the KC Chiefs sent them about a year ago and they said that we could have some because they had a lot so we each got one and we got an extra one for this one member who is in a wheel chair because of a stork and he just found out that he has to go through chemotherapy for some cancerous tumors and we knew that he loves the Chiefs and we thought that it might light up his mood and later that day when we gave it to him and was REALLY happy and thank us for it and told us that this really made thing better so that made us feel pretty good. Hey yea I can’t believe that this week I will have been out a year!

So I’m still in the same area and I will be “killing off” elder Meisenheimer so it seems like I’ll be here for another 3 months because elder Meisenheimer will be going home the end of this transfer and they probably won’t be double transferring us out. Oh and for baptisms I’ve been in the area for 3 but I played a major part in another 2 but got transfer out right before them so I counted 5 so far.

And my favorite thing on my mission so far is all the different people that I’ve have been able to meet in a whole lot of different places and to be able to see the gospel change some of their lives has been pretty amazing

And this last week I managed to run over a shard of glass and pop my tire and that bent my rim so we walked a lot. One day we walked for about 5 or 6 hours straight but we were able to do a lot of street contacting and a little bit of tracting and towards the end of it we ran into a member that was just getting done with school and was walking home so that was pretty neat. Oh and I will be getting the bike fixed this week so that will be nice. Oh and thank you for the salt water taffies they are pretty good.

Hello

This week was pretty great we had a ton of success we were able to do a lot of work and now we are seeing a lot of good coming from it. On Sunday we had an investigator that wanted to come to church and asked us to call her to wake her up so on Sunday we tried to call her but now one answered so we drove over there to try and wake her up that worked she got after us thinking that we came to pick her up right then but we said we were trying to wake her up and told her that a member would be coming in about 2 hours to come and pick her up she was happy about that and during church right after sacrament meeting she told us that her husband told her that we didn’t believe in God and she now believes that we do and she really liked how everything we taught in church was simple then after gospel principles she said that she finally found the church that she was looking for and then asked us if we could meet with her 3 times a week or if that was too much we told her that was fine. It was really great to see when hard work pays off like that and just how much the lord blesses you. Oh and transfers is this week so we’ll see what happens write you all next week.

Hello

Things were pretty good this week the first time on my mission I finally got over 20 lessons in a week it was pretty exciting and it is exciting to see how the area is getting going again it is soo amazing how much potential this area is I think a member was telling us that in our area we have about 300,000 people that live in it so there is a lot of potential for it to keep on growing 😀 oh the college girls dropped us but told us that their view on the Mormon church have definitely changed for the better so that’s good I guess. And this Sunday we had two more that came from that college so well see how it goes. that Indian man has been SUPER busy because his department has a conference in Chicago and he has a presentation that he needs to do so we haven’t been able to meet with him for a couple of weeks but this week he told us that he was free. Oh and early this week I got a call telling me that a Will Osborne wanted to feed me and my comp sometime so I got permission to call them and his wife answered and told me that she is from Topeka and was going through old emails and saw that grandma emailed them that I was going on my mission to this area and she kind of felt bad that I have almost been out a year but will be eating with them on Saturday so that is pretty exciting 😀 it is great to hear that Sadie is doing great and that Nathan is doing great too. And it sounds like it kind of suck that the power was going out a lot over there.

Hello everyone,

This week was pretty good towards the end of the week it was pretty good we were able to find some pretty good people and on Sunday we were able to have 6 nonmembers at church and that was surprising because we only was planning on 1 or 2. 3 of them were college girls going to our church for a school project in the American religion class we talked with them after sacrament meeting they said that they really enjoyed the service and they did have some questions for us we answered them and gave them all copies of the Book of Mormon and some pamphlets and our number if they had any more questions. And they called us earlier today with some more questions and we set an appointment latter this week to teach them more about our church so hopefully that goes well. They go to a catholic college called Rock Hurst and two of them are catholic. then we also had a 16 year old girl of an ex-communicated member who’s is trying to come back she had been talking the discussions from some other missionaries so she already knew some of the things when we were teaching her after church the sprite was really there and we challenged her to be baptized on the 29th but latter she told us that to change it to the 22nd because she knows it true and doesn’t want to wait that long so that was pretty awesome. oh and we weren’t able to meet with the India guy this week because he is only free on Saturday and he was going to be at a wedding for sat and sun but when we called him about half way through the week he said that he wants to try some time during the week which is pretty exciting oh and he has been praying about baptism without us having to ask him. Just the whole events surrounding him have just been amazing and you can really tell God’s hand in this and I will be really excited to see him get baptized.
